News from Ewing Road

Today is the beginning of a new year … 2010!  I have never been more excited about starting a new year in local church ministry than I am in 2010.  June 1, 2009 called called me and my family to a new work as lead pastor at Ewing Road Baptist Church in Austell, Ga.  These first seven months have been a tremendous experience for us!  I have been overwhelmed not only to see God working in hearts and lives, but to see people responding in faith to the precious gospel and love of Jesus Christ.  With the start of a new year there is much on my heart and mind for our church’s fellowship and ministry … may God be glorified more than ever and may He find us trustworthy of the ministry He desires to entrust to us.

One immediate adjustment we are making to our church’s ministry strategy is the starting of a Wednesday night Bible study at 6:30pm.  The first of these Bible studies will be on Wednesday, January 6th. The purpose for this newly established Bible study time is multifaceted: 1) Provide a mid-week “fuel stop” for Christians to have the opportunity to be refreshed through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship; 2) Provide a more family-friendly approach to our mid-week ministry schedule; 3) Provide a worship environment for those in our community whose work schedule prevents them from being able to attend church on Sunday morning.

Our children and student ministries will continue to meet at 6:30pm each Wednesday night as well.  Our students will be meeting each Wednesday night in our newly renovated student building.

To God be the glory great things He has done!
